Effi Schleyen Sensei
Effi Schleyen Sensei was born in 1958.
Effi has started to practice Martial Arts in 1972 as a student of Haiim Zoot, who received his training from Imi Lichtenfeild, the founder of "Israeli Krav Maga" (Israeli Close Combat).
After Effi Sensei ended his army service, at the end of 1979, he started to practice Karate in Arye Berco Sensei Dojo, in Haifa.
At the end of 1982 he received his SHO-DAN (first Dan) in Karate from "Kancho" Tamas Weber, the head of SHITORYU SANSHIN-KAN world organization, at the HONBU DOJO (main Dojo) in Europe.
In April 1983 Effi Sensei opened his first DOJO in "Kiryat-Mozkin".
In 1984 -1988 Effi learned Karate under Isaac Florentine Sensei and Yossi Checnovich Sensei.
Effi Sensei as started to learn the individual approach to PRACTICAL-SELF-DEFENSE and MILITARY-CLOSE-COMBAT under Kancho and holds 5th Dan.
In 1987 Effi established second DOJO in Haifa city, witch was turned within the years to the HONBU DOJO in Israel.
From the beginning of the 90th Effi sensei taught in the officers sea-school in "Acco" and in "Alliance school" in Hifa. Later he also taught security guard course.
In the year of 1998 Effi has joined to Ninomiya Dojo, under Amir Graff Sensei and started to practice AIKIKAI - AIKIDO.
In August 1999 first contact was formed with a very well known KOBUDO organization in Okinawa/Japan: RYUKYU KOBUDO HOZON SHINKO-KAI. Effi Sensei invited president Akamine Hiroshi Sensei and top senior teachers from Japan to his Dojo in Israel.
Effi Sensei was authorized for 7th DAN in KARATE and 3rd DAN in RYUKYU KOBUDO.
In January 2003 Effi has engaged himself with the art of IAI-DO (the way of the Japanese sword) under Eyal Wise Sensei.
Effi Sensei is the representative of two world wide associations in Israel:

Effi consistently goes to his Sensei in Europe and in Okinawa/Japan to practice and study and invites his teachers to Israel few times a year.
He consistently widens his Martial Arts knowledge in general and his disciplines in particular and holds an orthodox and practical approach.
Effi states that practice is the first condition to study and deeply understand Martial Arts.
"In order to teach, a teacher should practice and advance himself so his spring of knowledge will never dry and he will constantly promote himself and his students".
